“Time for Action, not Backtracking,” Says COP27 Presidency.

COP27 occurs when floods, drought, wildfires, storms, and cyclones devastate communities, economies, and ecosystems globally.

The COP27 President Special Representative Ambassador Wael Aboulmagd told the Africa Climate Podcast that nations must prioritize action now and not backtrack on their climate action promises.

Ambassador Aboulmagd says of the total private climate investments, only less than one percent is being allocated to adaptation, while 61 percent of total public and private climate finance going to countries are in loans. Hence the most vulnerable, least contributors to the climate emergency are incurring debts to pay for their climate actions.
