COP27 not the answer to the global climate crisis.

The earth exists not just as an investment opportunity but as a trust passed on from previous generations for the current to hold as stewards for future generations. However, human activities like deforestation cutting indigenous trees for exotic ones, pollution, and burning of coal among others have led to increased greenhouse gases over the years.

As the world prioritizes development over the environment, scientists warn that global warming will exceed 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052, meaning more severe and extreme weather events.

Therefore, It is time for all actors to come out of the boardroom meetings and conferences, put down their feet, and implement these plans and policies protecting our God-given resources but from bottom-up approaches allowing communities to relate culturally and spiritually with nature. These policies have existed in many nations, but behavior change is required among communities and a mind shift among our leaders.
